3- mile interval run followed by tire flip and a couple of sets on the Traxx system.

Felt really good....Stress of the day is gone!!

Transition of Power

Good morning,

While I did not support either primary party candidate nor did I vote for either. This morning I am breaking my bow of no TV so we, me and my 7-year old, get to watch the lead up to this historical moment for this country. The standard of peaceful transition of power is an amazing part of our history and I celebrate it with all my heart.

This morning, however, we will add praying for this country and the President to our morning prayer at breakfast. While this home does not feel Trump is the right person to be President we know that only God Almighty can change a heart.

Busy Life

Life has been so busy the last couple of weeks. It seems there is an unending list of things to do. What happened to the pursuit of minimalism and business? No time available.

Even though I have given up social media and television other things that were not getting done immediately filled up that now available time. Seems like the more time we free up the more things swoop in the fill it.

The struggle is real!!

What an Incredible Day!!

The 17th of January is the day my wonderful bride was born and yesterday we celebrated her day, a little early. We had about 30 people over at the house, had some food, some football but mostly enjoyed great time with friends and family. Our extended family and network of friends is extremely important us at this house.

Busy Weekend!!

It is that time of year when you unravel all the decorations you put up prior to Christmas. We have boxes and boxes of stuff pulled out of the attic then re-box and put back into the attic.

Nothing exciting to see this weekend except getting the whole house and yard back to normal!!

We have operated so well as a family getting it all done. Super impressed by who this family is!!

An article I found interesting......

I am 48, about to be 49, and investments and retirement is on my mind. This article is a short brief of what is covered in a very expansive book which I have listen to twice, going through it again starting today.

I highly recommend this information if you value your future.

Incredible Day

Well the doctor says I don't have pneumonia and that is awesome news!! They gave me a steroid shot and I should be good to go.

A lot of things were accomplished today but not much on my list, such is life. I did however get the really important things done. We worked together well as a family and that solidifies who we as a productive unit on this planet.

Winding down before bed getting prepared for tomorrow and spending time with the family. #goodtimes

What the New Year Brings

Yes I have been fighting this sinus (whatever it is) for about 4-days but this morning it seems to have moved to my chest. Headed to the PrimaCare shortly to see if I let it run its course or get some medicine to eradicate it.

My New Years Commitments 2017

Good Morning!! I hope everyone is safe and had a great time bringing in the New Year!

Every year I make commitments for the next 365 days and a lot of the time I fail in my efforts. This year I have constructed my commitments to be very public and easily monitored by all closest to me.

Commitments for 2017-

  • No social media -- I will still be social but it will be my blogs, phone calls and texts
  • No personal TV watching -- I will still watch sports and movies with the family
  • Vegan dietary practice strictly followed
This morning was a prime example of the vacuum left by my commitments. Normally when I get up before everyone else I plant my self on the couch and review social media while surfing for something to watch on TV. This morning I cooked my steel cut oats, sat down at the bar with my Chrome book/Nexus 6 and started writing this blog. I have a great feeling this change (minimalism) is going to create a very productive year free of a lot of distractions.

The items on my agenda today:
  • Read my devotions
  • Pickup around the house
  • Put in a transition threshold for the door way to my daughters room
  • Install weatherstripping on the front and back doors
  • Prepare to lead our weekly family meeting
  • Add some mulch to the flower beds in the front yard
  • Spend quality time with my family
  • Detail the inside of my minimalist Honda Fit with a 6-speed manual transmission
